Immortality? Now I long for death... How long will I...?
― Song Yoon-Cheon,
Chapter 0

Song Yoon-Cheon (송윤천), is the main protagonist of the martial arts novel (manhwa? Future?), the Most Powerful God in The World. The story of the Deity who born as an ordinary person, but inexplicably ascended to become an Unparalleled Deity with Immortality.

Appearance[]

Song Yoon-Cheon, due to his immortality, he appears as a handsome, tall young youth who looks to be around eighteen, with a delicate frame, fair and flawless skin without a single scar, akin to hidden white jade. Whether it was an illusion or not, there seemed to be a crimson hue imbued in the depths of his eyes, as if blood had stained them. Plus, his black hair, sparkling like darkness, adds an air of mystery.

Personality[]

In the distant past, Song Yoon-cheon also harbored anger at the injustice of the world. He tried several times to personally step in and change the world. But it was all in vain. Realizing that he couldn't change the world alone, he gave up. Whether there are laws or not, the oppression of the weak by the strong has been the order of the world since ancient times. Always and everywhere.

Over the course of his millennia-long existence, he developed a cold-hearted demeanor, almost devoid of the slightest emotions. His only source of interest stems from the faintest glimmer of hope to rid himself of immortality, a quest that keeps him driven despite his otherwise emotionally detached state.

Overview[]

Born as an ordinary person, but inexplicably ascended to become a Monstrous Deity (괴력난신 — 怪力亂神) with immortality. The living legend of the martial world, The Strongest Under Heaven and the highest in martial prowess, That was Song Yoon-Cheon. Even a life without end spans Thousands of Years.

"Immortality? Now I long for death."

In front of him longing for death, a brother and sister who are Half Humans and Half Deities appeared.

"Let us propose a deal that will benefit both of us.”

In the despair spanning millennia, a glimmer of hope emerged. And as if by the whims of fate, When Song Yoon-Cheon moved, evil moves too.

Immortality[]

...Thus, the time around him flows endlessly, except for Song Yoon-Cheon himself. Watching everything around him change psychologically affects him unpleasantly. His body, free from the fears of aging and death that everyone dreads, knows no bounds. However, the act of gnawing at his own mind was something he couldn't easily prevent or endure. Thus, Song Yoon-cheon wandered the world for ages, never staying in one place for long.

Fortunately, his nomadic lifestyle made it easy for him to move dwellings. He began retracing time endlessly in his mind. Starting from the current era of Great Ming, then the Yuan, Song, the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, Tang, Sui... Going further back, there were the Southern Dynasties, Northern Dynasties, the Sixteen Kingdoms, Three Kingdoms, then the Eastern Han, Xin, Western Han, Qin, Eastern & Weastern Zhou, Shang, and Xia dynasties, etc...

Further, in the ancient times when Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors (삼황오제 — 三皇五帝) existed as real beings on Earth, not just myths or legends. Ascending further, recalling scenes from his distant past when he was a wandering Third-Class Martial Artist.

Then, the oldest and most vivid memory surfaced — the Mysterious Swordsman who made him what he is now. If Song Yoon-Cheon can find him, he will bring to him more pain than death. Just remembering that time brought forth a rage so intense that it seemed to seep out involuntarily. Nothing had left a mark on his body, except for one thing that hadn't disappeared no matter how much time passed. Just recalling it brought back the excruciating pain from that time. But since Song Yoon-Cheon couldn't find him for so long, he might have already died... No, if Song Yoon-Cheon still alive, he might be alive too.

It wasn't common, but occasionally, people who learned that Song Yooncheon was Ageless & Deathless would ask him such questions. They would ask if there were any drawbacks to being Immortal. Similar questions weren't limited to humans alone. Most Monstrous Deities also faced death at the end of aging. Drawbacks of immortality? There is nothing in this world that has only advantages. Whatever it is, if it has advantages, it also has disadvantages.

To Song Yooncheon, the one being asked, it seemed like the most foolish question, but he couldn't laugh at them. All beings tend to have vague fantasies about something they don't possess. The poor think that if they become rich, they wouldn't need anything else. However, even the emperor, who stands above all, sometimes wishes to throw off all burdens and be free. Song Yooncheon gave an answer to the question. The drawback of immortality is endless suffering. Whether it is mental suffering or physical suffering.

Wish[]

In his desperate situation, even the tiniest bit of help seemed like an unexpected gift, and there was no reason to refuse it. While others sought the Immortality (불로불사 — 不老不死 = Ageless & Deathless), Song Yooncheon, as himself, only wished to put an end to the eternal and immortal time flowing endlessly. You may ask why he didn't kill himself. Right? Well, it's a definite immortality; even if he becomes dust, he will regenerate as normal as ever. He is a True Elternal Being among the Mysterious Deities, he is the Ageless-Undying-Indestructible Immortal.

Martial Talent[]

Martial Talent (무재 — 武才), it refers directly to talent in martial arts. Interpretations vary, but to put it simply, it means effortlessly mastering one or more skills when others would only grasp one, or mastering what takes a year in a shorter time. Lastly, it signifies forging a new path without learning from anyone.

Just like many geniuses that Song Yoon-Cheon envied. In reality, it took him almost two to three years to form his first Qi cycle. He struggled to become strong, without the ease of innate talent. He unintentionally became a Deity, and over the years, he became stronger, surpassing others by a vast margin.

Titles[]

Song Yooncheon endured a very long time. While not entirely, he had set foot in the murim for the longest period, exploring various paths. Moreover, he never presented the same appearance twice. Orthodox, Unorthodox, Demon, Dark, Boyong—there was no restraint, and he pursued whatever he desired. As a result, Song Yooncheon was known by quite a number of nicknames. Since he wasn't a genius to begin with, it took quite a bit of time to be called by a plausible nickname.

Sword Saint[]

It took about 500+ years for him to be called Sword Saint (검성 — 劍聖) after tempering his sword in the Heart Mountain's Nameless Valleys of Mount Hua.

Divine Demon[]

Immersing himself in Demonic Arts, he secluded himself in the Heavenly Mountains for 400+ years, earning the title of Divine Demon (신마 — 神魔).

Living Buddha[]

Devoting himself to the Buddhist, practicing wall meditation for over 300+ years, he was called Living Buddha (생불 — 生佛).

Thunder Lord[]

From martial arts secrets to mystical artifacts like treasures, elixirs, and relics. Among them, he took what he could and left unnecessary things in their place. One of the most representative things Song Yooncheon unhesitatingly obtained among the extraordinary encounters was none other than the Heavenly Thunder Gem (천뢰옥 — 天雷玉). It was a fragment of the aura known to be left behind by the 'Ancient Thunder Lord, which is now considered a mythological relic.

Anyway, if it wasn't Song Yooncheon, anyone else would have died without hesitation, so he didn't hesitate to take it. It was a divine object containing a thunder power so powerful that no one could withstand it. Even he, enduring more pain than death itself, couldn't fully digest it. In the end, despite only digesting a small fraction of the thunder power contained within the Heavenly Thunder Gem, he became incomparably stronger than before.

At that time, rumors of Song Yooncheon's exploits spread throughout the world, claiming that the Thunder Lord himself had returned to the mortal realm.

Heavenly Demon[]

The indescribable aura and the sinister appearance, resembling a demon that anyone might have imagined at least once. If one were to express it, it would be "awe" (敬畏). Some revered this power above all else, while others feared it more than anything. The name attached to this power was the First Demon Throughout History (고금제일마 — 古今第一魔), the Ruler (지배자) of Myriad Demons (만마 — 萬魔) – the Demon Among Demons (마중마 — 魔中魔), the Divine Demon (신마 — 神魔), the Demon King (마왕 — 魔王), and the Demon Descended from The Heavens. A welcoming and, in its true sense, the first and the ultimate Heavenly Demon (천마 — 天魔). All these epithets pointed to Song Yoon-Cheon.[2]

Current Title[]

Apart from these, there were quite a few other nicknames, ranging from the Best in the World to surpassing that, or falling slightly short, but all were quite respectable. In this way, all the titles Song Yooncheon acquired were filled with the passage of time. Having lived for a long time and ruled the world, he naturally encountered extraordinary events every few hundred years. At this current era, he has no titles, since it had been over 200+ years since Song Yooncheon was last known to be active in the Murim.

Divine Power[]

Divine Power (신력 — 神力), it was a power that only beings like Song Yoon-cheon could manipulate. The Entities capable of manipulating the force known as divine power were rare throughout the realm. The era in which they roamed had long passed, and the dominant beings in the world were humans. Divine power was a force permitted only to Supernatural Beings. Divine Power is very mysterious, isn't it? The power that can turn oneself from a perfectly normal person into a Monstrous-Mighty Chaotic Deity, and granted an Ageless and Deathless Status.

Martial Arts[]

Originally, humans created and practiced martial arts to confront Monstrous Deities. Just as humans possess good and evil, so too do the Monstrous Deities. Some of them shared friendship with humans or even helped them. Conversely, some viewed humans as mere prey or playthings.

At that time, the leader of the humans' group said to the Song Yoon-Cheon who protected them, 'Please teach us how to become as strong as you'. So he taught them martial arts. It was to survive against the Monstrous Deities and all sorts of beasts...
