Seo Cheong-Yeon (서청연=Clear Pond from the West), the Azure Demon (청마 — 靑魔), one of the Six Demons of the Heavenly Demon Cult. Among the Six Demons, the only one shrouded in mystery was the Azure Demon. A powerful figure in the Demonic Cult, said to be at the pinnacle of dark arts. All that was known about him was the blue eyes visible through his mask and that he came from the west, unlike others who came from the east.

Song Yoon-Cheon[]

  • Under Heaven (천하 — 天下), refers to all the worlds spread beneath the sky.
  • Central Plains (중원 — 中原) interprets as the center of vast fields, and as the center of the world.

This land where Song Yoon-Cheon was born and raised has been Under Heaven and the Central Plains itself. since when? But is it really so? Song Yooncheon once thought the same as others, but realized it was not so after experiencing different worlds. The world is unexpectedly vast, and just a little step out opens a new world. Central Plains is merely boasting the largest scale at the present moment. This is not limited to humans, but equally applies to Monstrous Deities.

In the past, Song Yooncheon wandered Central Plains in search of the essence of Monstrous Deities. In the process, encountered Monstrous Deities of various kinds.

  • Entities whose appearance and abilities are perfectly described as monsters.
  • Existences where doubts grew if they truly were Monstrous Deities.
  • Entities harboring hostility towards everything except themselves.
  • Existences that receive treatment akin to myths or legends while displaying outstanding abilities...

Yet, even here, Song Yooncheon remained dissatisfied for not finding the answer. Ultimately, sought to leave Central Plains in search of the answer. At that time, the north was nothing more than a land of severe cold, and the east was perceived as nothing more than the vast ocean beyond a short distance. Therefore, decided to first explore the west or south.

Encountered various beings in the west as well.

  • A Vampire Lord (흡혈괴마) living as a regional lord with jet-black and distinctive attire from head to toe.
  • A Formidable Sorcerer (대단한 술법사) in a large island nation across the sea.

In a land where only deserts spread far below the sea:

  • He encountered Divine Birds (신조/神鳥).
  • Even met beings who resemble lions from head to toe and have a particular fondness for riddles on the faces of humans.

But among many encounters, the most memorable were the Blue-Eyed Clan (청안족 — 靑眼族) of Monstrous Deities. In appearance, they were truly ordinary people. Except for slightly longer lifespans than others and iridescent blue eyes that radiate a brilliant hue. Of course, everyone encountered in the west had eyes and hair of various colors, but the eyes of the Blue-Eyed Clan were particularly special among them. Similar beings also existed in Central Plains. If there was a difference, it was that their irises were tinged with red. They boasted beautiful appearances.

However, to the person involved, this turned out to be not a blessing but a curse that returned. It started somewhere at some point, attached to myths unknown, because of the prevalence of barbaric acts such as kidnapping them, gouging out their eyes, or extracting their hearts while they were alive and eating them, or pulling their blood and drinking it.

They say it's receiving the blessings of the gods. If seen from the perspective of Song Yuncheon, who encountered the mystery and was reborn as a mystery itself, it might seem uncivilized and barbaric, but such things have persisted in the Central Plains for thousands of years. The Blue-Eyed Clan are no exception. Whether it's east or west, there have always been people who believe in unfounded myths. Thus, although they may be considered Monstrous Deities kind, they were not exceptionally outstanding compared to ordinary people; they couldn't bear the numerical disadvantage and hid deep in the forest. That forest is precisely the Witch Forest (마녀림 — 魔女林). It earned its name because it's where women with beautiful shining eyes live.

  • "Sqwak-"

Hundreds of arrows flew towards Song Yuncheon, who had come alone seeking the Witch Forest, but... Song Yuncheon lightly waved his hand forward, creating a strong counterwind like a barrier line, sending the arrows flying back. A powerhouse unlike any seen before. This was the chieftain of the Blue-Eyed Clan, who had survived by antagonizing outsiders. Old age had stooped her back and turned her hair white; her face was lined with wrinkles, yet her eyes shone as blue as the sea.

  • "You are Blue-Eyed Clan."
  • "Yes, but... what brings you here?"

The local language naturally sprung from Song Yuncheon's lips. Initially unintelligible, years spent wandering these parts for a century had gradually enlightened him.

  • "I've heard your blue eyes see what is unseen, is that true?"

Facing the Blue-Eyed Clan, Song Yunchen remained skeptical. He had come seeking the witches rumored to gather in the Witch Forest. Most of the myths, legends, monsters, and ghosts he had heard in his life were nothing more than delusions.

  • "..."

The old woman stared wide-eyed at Song Yunchen in silence. Perplexed, Song Yunchen waited silently, wondering what the old woman was up to, until eventually, the old woman spoke.

  • "You carry too much of the past within you. More than our eyes can comprehend."

The flood of information overwhelmed the old woman, causing him a headache.

  • "Ugh-."
  • "Chieftain!"

Just as he was about to collapse, a young woman who appeared to be a disciple supported the old woman.

  • "Does 'unseen' refer to the past?"

Song Yuncheon's disappointment was evident. He wasn't interested in a past that had already passed and should be forgotten. After a while, the relieved old woman spoke again.

  • "These blue eyes do not show us what we wish to see. They merely convey what is visible to the blue eyes."
  • "Remarkable, but it's an ability beyond your control?"
  • "Put simply, yes."

According to the description of the old woman, Blue Eyes is extremely capricious and cannot be seen even if she wants to see it. Just live and show things that you haven't seen before sometimes on your own.

  • "Are others the same?"

About a hundred people hiding around the tribe.

  • "Please."

Although each person came forward and stared at Song Yunchun with blue eyes, no one saw what Song Yunchun wanted. Except for a little girl.

  • "Do you want to die...?"

The girl was still not grown up, so her eyes were less blue and her words were awkward, but she told Song Yunchun what she had seen.

  • "Yeah. Really."

The girl who witnessed Song Yunchun's inner thoughts made an expression that she could not understand. They left their hometown to survive and lived hard in the forest, so how did they want to die anyway? It was a full belly story. Song Yunchun also knew the other person's thoughts, but did not try to understand them. If you don't become the person concerned, no one can understand you.

  • "Do you not see anything else? If you see anything, even if it takes time, please tell me honestly."

Song Yunchun knelt down and sat down to accommodate the child closer and closer to himself. The child came one step closer and looked at Song Yuncheon before saying.

  • "I'm going around somewhere. The surroundings are different from here. People are different. Black hair. First hearing language, clothes, house......"
  • In the end, the girl did not witness Song Yunchun's death. Although he saw the future, this was also just a close future.
  • "Thank you."

Song Yunchun lightly touched the girl's head. He didn't get the answer he wanted from Blue-Eyed Clan, but he stayed in the forest for a few days because they cared for himself. He went out to the nearest city and bought the necessary items with the gold he had, and also removed the surrounding dangers. Thus, Song Yuncheon, who completed all the affairs in the west, finally returned to the east. The Blue-Eyed Clan sent off the stranger who was leaving.

  • "Thank you. If you get a chance, please visit again later. You never know. Then someone might be able to see what you want."

The old woman thanked Song Yunchun with a grateful and sorry heart.

  • "So don't."

Song Yuncheon promised to reunite someday and returned to his hometown. But they never met again. When Song Yuncheon visited Witch Forest again after the passage of time. Because the race was punished and burned to the eager blue eyes and cursed people. Song Yuncheon search for the remnant Blue-Eyed Clan, but returned without finding them.[1]
