The Secret History (祕史) of the family, which was only preserved in ancient texts. Naturally, Namgoong Clan, boasting its current prestige and power, did not start off as such. Before rising to prominence as Namgoong Great Clan, they were merely one of many small families in the martial world. Even before that, they were the humble Namgoong Clan.

In the past, when Namgoong Clan was still known as Namgoong Mugwan, residing in the beautiful scenery of Mt. Huang in the Southern Anhui Province, considered the best landscape in the Central Plains. Despite their modest status, their territory was relatively well-established, so they did not lack followers. However, one day, Namgoong Woo, acclaimed as the strongest martial artist in the history of the Namgoong family, brought in a handsome man with utmost respect. This man was none other than Song Yoon-Cheon, who was hailed as the Greatest Diviner in various fields including feng shui, physiognomy, and naming during his time.

It wasn't an ordinary name, but it wasn't unheard of either. After a quick glance around Namgoong Muggwan, Song Yooncheon uttered,

It could have been dismissed as a curse, a slander, or the ramblings of a madman, considering how diviners often frightened people and took their money. But Namgoong Woo didn't do that; instead, he became even more proactive.

When Namgoong Woo heard of the great general who defeated Sun Quan's 100,000 troops with eight hundred soldiers, Namgoong Woo immediately packed his belongings and moved to Hefei with his family the next day. Twenty days later, when they arrived at Hefei and began to settle down, news arrived that a landslide caused by heavy rain had completely swept away the area where Namgoong Muggwan had been and its surroundings.

• - However, he warned that someday, someone old and feeble would come to the family and warn them of impending danger, so they should not ignore the warning.
• - Before leaving, he revealed that their connection was first established in ancient times and this was their second encounter. He also said that their connection was still intact and if the opportunity arose, they would meet again.
