Il Won (일원) or the Sage Il Won (일원 진인), and the Successor of the Wudang Sect, one of the Nine Great Sects & One Union.

Cheong Woon's Death[]

This man was none other than the disciple of the Supreme Ultimate, Cheong Woon. Unlike the disciples of Jin Hyeon, who only took on disciple a few years ago, Cheong Woon's circumstances were vastly different. Cheong Woon, unable to find a suitable talent, accepted Il Won as his disciple without any particular reason, and that was over twenty years ago.

Since becoming a disciple of the Wudang Sect, Cheong Woon had gained a reputation for diligence, always holding a sword except for minimal rest. "My dreams have been unsettling. Too unsettling," he thought. Although they could be dismissed as mere dreams, to him, they were more than just recurring nightmares.

Now, while officially known as a disciple of the Wudang Sect and receiving support, Il Won had a name and status from the secular world. His secular name was No Da-Mu, the fifth son of a prestigious shaman family. Despite adopting the name of Il Won and becoming a disciple twenty years ago, his family still maintained their reputation as shamans, dabbling in physiognomy, astrology, geomancy, and divination. Perhaps this spiritual lineage continued with Il Won.

Whenever he dreamed the same dream repeatedly, it often manifested in reality shortly afterward. Dreaming of a bag of gold coins fleeing on its own feet once resulted in a theft in the Wudang Sect. Dreaming of the Wudang Sect's main hall turning red led to a forest fire. Dreaming of the Sect Master embracing a pig once led to the unexpected discovery of 300-year-old ginseng behind his dwelling.

And recently, without fail, every night in Il Won's dreams, his master, Cheong Woon, appeared. As his master was like a friend to him, their conversations in the dream were plentiful.

  • Disciple, it’s been a while. You look good. You must be doing well, right?
  • I'm not worried about you. I'm worried that you're working too hard.
  • Take it easy. Then, wouldn't you be a little ashamed of this teacher if you passed away at a too early age?
  • huh? Like other guys your age, you get drunk after drinking a lot of grain tea with delicious snacks, sit out on the street, fall asleep, and burn some cigarettes.
  • haha… … . What flavor do you drink alcohol, or rather grain tea? After going through a lot of hard times, this teacher is just like sweet rice flour.
  • After a long time, this heavenly teacher will show you what Taichi Wisdom/Enlightened Sword is. Now, take a good look there. What is the teacher trying to say to his disciple? Even though I cautiously mustered up the courage to ask, the teacher only smiled lightly. But for some reason. To the disciple, the teacher's laughter seemed to cover up sadness. And today. The appearance of the teacher in the dream was a little different.
  • My disciple. I'm sorry that the burden I entrusted to you is so heavy.
  • Still, this master is fortunate to have a strong disciple and can leave with a lighter heart.
  • These are precious words, so listen carefully.

The master approached, embraced him once, then departed into the distance. Despite wanting to run after him, no matter how much he ran, the master only grew further away.
