Overview[]
The Heavenly Demon Cult (천마교 — 天魔敎), Heavenly Demon Divine Cult (천마신교 — 天魔神敎), or Demonic Cult (마교 — 魔敎), the descendants of the First Heavenly Demon, the absolute existence that exited for over 2000 years ago, now, and after they lost in the Orthodox-Demonic Great War 50+ years ago, they are hidden under the Heavenly Mountains in Xinjiang Province.
Originally, humans created and practiced martial arts to confront Monstrous Deities. Just as humans possess good and evil, so too do the Monstrous Deities. Some of them shared friendship with humans or even helped them. Conversely, some viewed humans as mere prey or playthings. At that time, the leader of the humans' group said to the Monstrous Deity who protected them, 'Please teach us how to become as strong as you'.
He taught them martial arts. It was to survive against the Monstrous Deities and all sorts of beasts. As time passed, the “Righteous” (정 — 正) who said one must adhere to the right path, and the “Evil” (사 — 邪) who believed that one must not hesitate to use any means to become stronger.... departed from the side of the Monstrous Deity. With newfound strength, they likely wanted to become leaders and lead their own groups.
Meanwhile, the “Dark” (흑 — 黑) who have failed, and became mixed up with various things, found their own paths and fled. And the “Demonic” (마 — 魔) who sought to transcend the limits of the Human Race and reach the level of the Monstrous Deities... remained by the side of the Monstrous Deity until the end, even after the Deity suddenly left them. They became a kind of Cult and Fanatic Followers.
At that time, there was no term like 'Monstrous Deity.' Instead, they were called Demons (마귀 — 魔) or Spirits (귀신). And that being introduced himself as a Demon who Descended from The Heavens (하늘 — 天). It was none other than the First Heavenly Demon... Yes, that Monstrous Deity was indeed the First Heavenly Demon, and those who worshiped him became disciples, forming what is now known as the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult (천마신교 — 天魔神敎).
Some revered his power above all else, while others feared it more than anything. The name attached to this power was Heavenly Demon Divine Technique (천마신공 — 天魔神功), the First Demon Throughout History (고금제일마 — 古今第一魔), the Ruler (지배자) of Myriad Demons (만마 — 萬魔) – the Demon Among Demons (마중마 — 魔中魔), the Divine Demon (신마 — 神魔), the Demon King (마왕 — 魔王), and the Demon who Descended from The Heavens. A welcoming and, in its true sense, the first and the ultimate Heavenly Demon (천마 — 天魔). All these epithets pointed to Song Yoon-Cheon.

Song Yoon-Cheon & Demon King[]
Nowadays, this magnificent name of the Heavenly Mountains is attached, but in the past, there wasn't even such a name. People around here used to call this place a dangerous land. There were more beasts than people, and more Monstrous Deities than beasts, which was why Song Yoon-Cheon, who had become Monstrous Deity, ended up coming here by chance. Though his power reached the heavens, he appeared to be an ordinary person on the surface, yet those who followed and worshipped him increased. It wasn't just a casual connection; it was a predestined one, so even as Song Yoon-Cheon, he couldn't easily abandon that faith.
Song Yoon-Cheon, who had been dealing with Monstrous Deities and beasts alone, felt a sense of unease one day. Of course, at that time, Monstrous Deities, beasts, and humans coexisted everywhere, but this place had an unusually high number of rough characters. The deeper one went into the Heavenly Mountains, the more evident it became. At some point, even humans began to transform like demons. Unable to endure it any longer, Song Yoon-Cheon set out to find the source, and it wasn't difficult to find. After all, it was also a Monstrous Deity, so it was stimulating him, sometimes tempting and even trying to suppress him.
- This is the Demon's Lair.
Now it was called the Heavenly Demon Cave. When Song Yoon-Cheon discovered it, Demonic Qi was overflowing from within.
- "Here, Monstrous Deities and beasts possessed by madness have gone wild."
Having found his goal, Song Yoon-Cheon headed straight for the cave without hesitation. But after just a few steps, the Demonic Qi began to envelop him. And slowly, it permeated his entire body, causing endless pain.
Song Yoon-Cheon endured the increasing pain and continued deeper. He was immortal. No being in the world could harm him. Neither greater mysteries nor greater strength and pain than this. Song Yoon-Cheon continued towards the end. Moving without rest for days, he finally reached the edge.
- "?"
A creature with a sinister appearance was sticking its face out from the middle of the wall. It seemed to contain all the evil in the world. It resembled the demons commonly imagined by people. The creature slowly opened its eyes, staring at Song Yoon-Cheon with dark, stained pupils.
- "... ... ... ..."
He tried to speak, but no sound came out. Instead, the creature's intended words were transmitted directly into Song Yoon-Cheon's mind. Of course, it wasn't a complete sentence, just some words or condensed meanings.
- "Are you sealed here?"
Song Yoon-Cheon conversed with the trapped being from a distance. He pleaded to be released, threatened, and even tried to coerce. The creature did try to harm Song Yoon-Cheon directly, but...
- "You're quite rough in your dealings."
As an existence defying death, Song Yoon-Cheon immediately revived with a pitiful look. Song Yoon-Cheon observed and conversed with the trapped being for a long time. The being referred to itself as the Demon King and called the energy flowing from here Demonic Qi. The Demon King made efforts to persuade Song Yoon-Cheon, but his tricks couldn't easily sway him.
- "Are you offering me power?"
If it weren't for Song Yoon-Cheon, anyone else might have accepted.
- "Or perhaps, you'll grant me eternal life?"
The Demon King tempted him, promising to make him strong or grant him immortality. But no one was thrilled with the proposal. &"Is that all you can offer?" Song Yoon-Cheon expressed his disappointment openly. Then the Demon King asked what he wanted, and Song Yoon-Cheon asked to be returned to being human. It was an unreasonable request, and the Demon King struggled with it. It was something he had never thought of or tried before. If he killed Song Yoon-Cheon, he would have to remain trapped here for countless years again. No one had ever overcome the gentle Demonic Qi emanating from the Demon King and reached this place.
Ultimately, the Demon King sought to annihilate Song Yoon-Cheon's power, which had become formidable due to the gentle Demonic Qi. Many years passed, but...
- "It's a failure."
Song Yoon-Cheon remained the same as he was at first. He was still not a person but a Monstrous Deity. Rather, by being close to the Demon King and accepting his Demonic Qi, he even resembled the Demon King.
- "..., ..."
The Demon King offered excuses, but Song Yoon-Cheon didn't listen and left the cave as it was. In the past years, all the Monstrous Deities and beasts that had been contained here also returned to their places. Instead, there were those who anxiously awaited Song Yoon-Cheon's departure. Revealed within the Demonic Qi, Song Yoon-Cheon was dubbed the Heavenly Demon. Naturally, the cave where he appeared was called the Heavenly Demon Cave. Those who had awaited Song Yoon-Cheon began to treat him as both their savior and the only god, the Heavenly Demon. Some became leaders, some elders, and some even became demons to guard the Great Heavenly Demon. The rest were called disciples. Everything fell into place. And the Heavenly Demon Sect revealed itself to the world.[1]
