Though blind, she could see more than those who had sight, witnessing what they could not. But why on earth would she associate with these individuals? She is searching for a voice. A voice she had longed to find throughout her life, despite the infamy she had built up in murim after putting down everything she held in her hands, allowing her to live a life that others envied. The that killed her family, and everything she knew when she was a child.

Cheongyeon Tea House[]

Like a clear bond, "Cheongyeon" (청연 — 淸緣), meaning "Pure Fate", was reflected in the vast tea fields they owned, it was the largest Tea House in the Central Plains, surpassing all imagination in scale.

Overview[]

When she was born, she was known as Jung Pal or Jung Chil. Later, she was called Heung Jong, Deok Yu, and then renamed to Won Jang (원장 - 元璋). Born of humble origins, the founder of the Great Ming Dynasty, Hongwu Emperor, overcame disease as an orphaned child and rose to become an emperor. This is a tale from a long time ago. Of course, there were other orphans before or after, but cases of overcoming adversity and rising up were few and far between. Most orphans led unhappy lives and met their demise without achieving much. Though Eun Soso wasn't technically an orphan in her early years, her circumstances were just as dire.

She never experienced the bond between parents and children. Perhaps she was born blind to filial piety. But after she began to demonstrate her ability, now called Mind's Eye, to see into the hearts of others, her parents who had previously neglected her began to take notice. They brought people before her to observe their inner thoughts. Moved by this, they tearfully called Eun Sososo a little saint. The parents who knew nothing of her even created a shrine for her and became her caretakers. At that time, Eun Soso was so young and lacked a solid understanding of the world, so she simply followed her parents' instructions.

Then one day, a stranger with an unfamiliar smell visited her. Although Eun Soso didn't realize it at the time, it was the scent of blood mixed with incense. Unlike those who knelt and prayed tearfully before her, the man left a brief message.

  • "It's not your fault."

With those words, he placed a staff made from a carved tree into Eun Soso's hand and quickly departed. Neither the priest nor the congregation sought out Eun Sososo anymore, and she ventured out into the world for the first time, relying on the wooden staff left by the stranger. Eventually, she encountered the owner of a tea house while wandering through tea fields. Considering Eun Soso a valuable asset, the tea house owner took her as his adopted daughter. Thanks to her Mind's Eye, she expanded the tea house and tea fields significantly. However, unsatisfied with her circumstances, Eun Soso sought strength for revenge, leading her to encounter Sama Seong and embark on the Seven Evils.
